MWC stand animations | Vodafone

The ask

Vodafone were hosting a major presence at Mobile World Congress (MWC) and needed support creating high-impact 3D murmurating particle animations for their stand. The work needed to bring core brand assets to life at a monumental scale, led by a 14.5m x 2m hero screen and supported by a wider, complex network of displays across the stand.

Our approach

This was a project defined by sheer scale, pixel density, and spatial complexity. The hero screen alone ran at a resolution of 4176 x 576px, demanding content that could hold clarity, detail, and impact across an expansive physical canvas.

To achieve this, we pushed far beyond standard production pipelines. Developing multiple variations of the Vodafone murmurating graphics, we generated ultra-high-resolution renders at 22,700px × 10,204px – over 230 million pixels per frame. This ensured every particle retained its integrity, with no loss of detail when scaled across the environment.

But scale was only part of the challenge. The animations needed to exist within a 3D spatial environment, working seamlessly across multiple screens positioned at different angles and sightlines.  Thousands of particles were simulated in continuous motion, forming and reforming Vodafone’s brand assets with precision and fluidity. 

A flexible content system was developed to translate these ultra-high-resolution animations across the full display network, ensuring consistency in timing, composition, and flow. Close collaboration with Vodafone and the stand builders was critical, allowing us to accurately map content to the physical structure and align digital motion with real-world geometry.

The outcome

The result was a visually striking, large-scale installation where over 2 million pixels worked in sync across a complex 3D environment to create a seamless, immersive brand experience. Particle animations flowed effortlessly across the stand, delivering clarity, impact, and cohesion from every angle.

Vodafone were delighted with both the creative and execution, and the stand proved to be a strong presence at MWC.
