The ask

Vodafone partnered with Nicely Done to create a high-impact explainer animation that would educate, inform, and inspire travellers to activate their eSIMs with confidence.

Our animation team’s mission was to develop a narrative that was not only visually engaging but also grounded in relatable travel scenarios. The animation needed to clearly demonstrate what an eSIM is, how it works, and the ease with which Vodafone customers could activate it for seamless connectivity abroad.

From script to storyboard and final delivery, our focus was on clarity, approachability, and brand alignment. The result was a dynamic and informative animation, purpose-built for multiple uses from digital campaigns to customer activation.

Our approach

We developed a 2D animated explainer designed to be both aspirational and engaging, capturing the attention of Vodafone’s diverse customer base. The animation explored a series of holiday scenarios, seamlessly transitioning from one persona’s journey to the next. Each scene was crafted to maintain narrative flow and visual continuity, creating an immersive viewer engagement for the new travel e-Sim.

To ensure the animation stood out, we designed a bold and distinctive colour palette that complemented the textured, vintage-inspired aesthetic. This visual language added a warm, nostalgic tone while maintaining a modern and dynamic feel, reinforcing Vodafone’s brand personality and broad customer appeal.

 

The Outcome

The animation will play a key role in Vodafone’s e-SIM activation campaign strategy, serving as an essential content tool in educating global travellers while reinforcing Vodafone’s position at the forefront of travel connectivity.
