The Ask
Google wanted to boost the popularity of its Google Maps app in the U.S. They had a simple goal: help people see how handy the app is, whether it’s for finding your way around or knowing the best time to hit up that favourite spot without battling the crowds. Redwood BBDO, their advertising agency, asked us to bring this campaign to life. Our mission? Create two 30-second adverts that would make people say, “Wow, I didn’t know Google Maps could do that!”
Our Approach
We collaborated closely with Redwood BBDO to ensure our vision was aligned with Google’s. Our approach was all about making Google Maps feel like an essential tool for everyday life.
We made sure each ad felt lively and real. Our visuals mixed real-life action with easy-to-follow screen overlays, showing off the app’s features without making things complicated. Bright, engaging, and a little playful
The Outcome
The ads hit the mark! People loved them. Google loved them. They not only highlighted the cool features of Google Maps but did it in a way that was clear and fun. The campaign got people talking and exploring more of what the app can do.
Thanks to the buzz and positive vibes from these two adverts, Google came back for more, handing us four more films to produce.
The ads were great, thanks for your help!
